NIGEE Participation in Local and International Events

NIGEE has participated in a number of local and international events during this period as part of our advocacy for the girl child.

In 2016 NIGEE took part in the Day of the African Child with the theme “Empowering Girls to reach their Potential by Delaying Marriage and Staying in School”. NIGEE Girls were happy to meet the Canadian High Commissioner to Kenya during  the  Day  of  the  African  Child. #Canada supports the rights of all children in Africa #DAC2016.

It was a great week for 4 of our NIGEE beneficiaries who are also PrEP champions to get an opportunity to travel to Johannesburg, South Africa, for a stakeholders meeting accompanied by NIGEE's Director, Dr. Kawango Agot. The meeting was under the theme: “Meeting the HIV Prevention Needs of Adolescent Girls and Young Women". The girls had a chance to tell their stories in person and advocate for other girls in Kenya.
