Early Child marriage is a vice and a retrogressive traditional practice that threatens the education of women and girls. This practice is responsible for the shamefully high dropout rates among girls in schools. It is also detrimental to the few girls who have high educational goals as they are married off before they complete their education.

Being a girl in the rural communities of Nyanza in the 21st century is a big challenge in so many ways. Despite numerous policies and legislation's advancing girl child education and protection of their rights most girls in Nyanza, still so many girls can't access quality education, live in poverty, undergo female genital mutilation, are victims of rape and violence and are married off at very tender ages.

All this can only stop if we join hands and protect our girls.
Let’s stand up and support girls' education.
